A LITTLE ABOUT ME!

HELLO

I’m Jo (JoJo to some!) - I design and handmake unique and fun wall art using fabulous luxury fibres and felt balls, to bring colour, texture, a touch of magic and joy to nurseries, kids rooms and spaces around your home, for those who love to purchase something unique to enjoy and treasure for years to come.

Little Update: January 2023 – I am back from maternity leave after welcoming my third child into the world last year, and I am super excited to get back making beautiful pieces for your homes!

It all started in 2017 when my son had just turned 1, and I set up an Instagram account to share things I was making as gifts for family and friends at Christmas, a creative outlet just for me, that I enjoyed, and wanted to share.  I didn’t return to my job in Corporate Finance after my son was born, and so being full time at home as he was growing, I still felt a gap in my life, something that was mine, that I could talk about and enjoy, and explore, that wasn’t baby or house related!  With encouragement from family and friends, a lot of trial and error, and trying different products and materials, I finally stumbled across felt balls.  The summer of 2019 when my daughter was 6 months old was when I made my first cloud, and it has just all evolved from there in terms of wall hangings and my love for fibres and felt balls!

I love to stay flexible, play with new ideas when the mood takes me, and not be tied up in making every piece to order.  I want to be able to experiment with different colour combinations, take inspiration and evolve, and go with the flow.  I also know that many of us don’t know what we are looking for until we see it, so being able to offer truly unique pieces that might be your perfect colour is part of the magic for me.  For this reason, many of my pieces you see are a one off and are ready to ship.  If a piece is popular then I will make multiples, and the ‘made to order’ range of favourites like the suns, shooting stars, and more niche shapes is something that I will be working to build out in future.

I take inspiration from all avenues of life, gorgeous colours we find in nature, those stunning sunsets and sunrises, dusky fields in summer with a beautiful blue sky, but also from being around other creatives online, small businesses and what the trends are.  New shapes are born from an idea I might have had lurking, a request from a customer, or just a lightbulb moment!
